CarbonXpacific (now Core Environmental Projects) were engaged to supply and install our RF50 flaring system at an operating piggery to support the installation of a commercial-scale system to generate power from methane from an anaerobic (covered pond) system.
Completed in 2015, the project now re-purposes waste and was the first piggery in Australia to be given the green light to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU’s) from destroying methane generated by pig manure – making it the first farm-based project declared eligible under the Federal Government’s Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI).
