We are seeking an Environmental Field Scientist to support environmental field programs and project delivery in Sydney (NSW). This role suits someone who enjoys hands on fieldwork, independent problem solving, and contributing to a growing multidisciplinary team. You will spend a significant portion of your time on site, coordinating field investigations and collecting high quality environmental data.

What you will do

• Undertake fieldwork including soil, groundwater, leachate, landfill gas, vapour, and asbestos sampling
• Conduct site inspections, monitoring, and verification activities in accordance with technical standards
• Collect, manage, and interpret environmental data and assist with technical reporting
  Coordinate field activities including subcontractor management, equipment planning, and logistics
• Prepare safety documentation including JSAs, SWMS and field readiness plans
• Assist senior scientists with scopes of work, fee inputs, and project documentation
• Liaise with team members and stakeholders to deliver work safely, on time, and in line with quality requirements

What we are looking for

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience or a related discipline
• At least 1-5 years of experience in a similar industry
• Prior experience in groundwater monitoring is essential
• Strong analytical and practical problem solving skills
• Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and environmental legislation
• Ability to work independently in field environments and manage competing priorities
• Clear and confident communication skills
• Comfortable working in a mix of field based and office based tasks
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites
