Essential Updates on Ground Gas

In March 2019, our Technical Director Steve Wilson and Managing Director at GB Card and Partners Dr Geoff Card toured New Zealand and Australia delivering workshops on Essential Updates on Ground Gas Assessment. It is twenty years since the seminal paper on Reliability and Risk in Gas Protection Design was published. The approach it suggested still underpins the guidance in the latest British Standard on designing gas protection measures. However, since that time, ground gas assessment has been continually evolving around the world.

The workshops focussed on new information and approaches that can help provide a pragmatic approach to ground gas and vapour risk assessment, mitigation design and waterproofing. As well as the workshops, evening networking sessions provided attendees the opportunity to dig deep about ground gas and vapour intrusion assessment and mitigation design.
