Leachate Management

Following capping and rehabilitation in 2022 of an engineered landfill containing paper mill waste, Core-EP was engaged to commission, operate, and maintain an on-site LGTP, treating leachate and groundwater to prescribed contamination limits prior to controlled release to land. Operating entirely above ground over a capped landfill cell, the LGTP processes extracted leachate through conical settling tanks, Advanced Filtration Material (AFM) vessels, and 21 multi-stage filter vessels, with treated water discharged via a controlled sprinkler irrigation system and verified through weekly laboratory testing.
