Landfill Gas Risk Assessment
Core Environmental Projects (Core-EP) provided landfill gas risk assessment for a large commercial development proposed immediately adjacent to a former landfill in Perth, Western Australia. The works included a detailed review of all existing site assessment reporting, gas collection system and gas flare performance, and the use of our in-house quantitative landfill gas migration model.
By utilising our multidisciplinary approach, Core-EP successfully demonstrated relatively lower landfill gas risks than initially thought with any residual risks to human health and environmental receptors being managed via engineered controls. Overall, this resulted in Site Auditor and regulatory approval, allowing the development to proceed.
